Jim Black - NC District Court Judge District 10F Seat 03

Candidate Statement:

Jim Black was first elected as a District Court Judge in 2020 and is running for his second term. He is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill Law School and lives in Cary with his wife and their two children. He is committed to maintaining justice without an agenda.

Importance of this Race:

Republicans have been packing our judicial system for years and trampling on individual rights and fair application of justice. We need to elect good, strong, and fair-minded Democrats to the Superior Courts to protect our civil and individual rights.

Office Responsibilities:

  • North Carolina District Courts hear cases involving civil, criminal, juvenile, and magistrate matters.
  • District Courts are divided into 43 districts across the state and sit in the county seat of each county.
  • They may also preside in certain other cities and towns specifically authorized by the General Assembly and are on the front line of justice for the citizens of NC.
