Candidate Statement:

Crystal Grimes has a passion for justice and wants to ensure justice is always being sought from the bench. With her experience, Crystal is uniquely qualified and connected with the people who are often involved in the court system. She intends to bring a sense of compassion, fairness, impartiality, and integrity to the bench in the pursuit of justice for all the residents of Wake County.

Importance of this Race:

Republicans have been packing our judicial system for years and trampling on individual rights and fair application of justice. We need to elect good, strong, and fair-minded Democrats to the Superior Courts to protect our civil and individual rights.

Office Responsibilities:

  • North Carolina District Courts hear cases involving civil, criminal, juvenile, and magistrate matters.
  • District Courts are divided into 43 districts across the state and sit in the county seat of each county.
  • They may also preside in certain other cities and towns specifically authorized by the General Assembly and are on the front line of justice for the citizens of NC.
